Yes, the Thinkpad is faulty, but I got a new one

My Thinkpad T14 Gen1 was faulty

After a lengthy debugging, that issue returned, I sent the machine back to the seller. Eventually, the machine was faulty and the seller made a full refund to me.

It marked the shortest laptop ownership for my, for less than 90 days. It is such an irony, as I was hoping to have a machine that will last for years.

After receiving the machine, I determined to do some research and eventually, I got another secondhanded machine. Believe it or not, I spent extra 200 loonies (adding the refund) for another Thinkpad T14.

Another Thinkpad T14, but this time, Gen2

Am I stupid? I hope not! This is Thinkpad T14 Gen2, with an AMD Ryzen 5 Pro-5650U CPU. Performance should be much better than the previous one. This is also my first AMD machine.

After receiving the machine, I am happy with my deicision. The state is much much better than the last one. You can hardly see any used scratches. The only downside is that the fingerprint reader is missing. Only then I realize it is optional.

But what amaze me is that the machine is equipped with touch screen! I don't know that before it arrive. It is not included in the specification.

I wanted a touch screen for my T14 Gen1, but it was pricey. Now, I own one! Thank you God.

First thing first, Fedora first

After using the preinstalled Windows 11 to upgrade some firmware of the machine. I then remove it entirely and install my favourite Fedora. Now Fedora 44.

My workflow resumes, the excellent typing experience returns. Life can be good.

Gardening season is busy. Spring is the best time of the year.
